Iron deficiency, along with malaria and hookworm disease, is a major cause of anemia during pregnancy. Micronutrient deficiencies such as folic acid, vitamin A, and vitamin B12 also contribute. Over the years, the World Health Organization (WHO) has recommended iron supplementation for pregnant women, particularly in both high- and low-income countries. The aim of this community service activity is to improve the health of pregnant women through screening activities, which include pregnancy check-ups, hemoglobin (Hb) level tests, as well as protein and glucose tests in urine, along with health education on anemia and calorie energy deficiency (KEK). This program has been carried out in collaboration with PMB Atika in Madiun Regency, which also involves midwives from PMB. The implementation was attended by 5 pregnant women participants, starting with a pre-test, pregnancy and laboratory examinations, followed by health education and counseling. It is hoped that this community service, conducted by the midwifery lecturers of Universitas Muhammadiyah Madiun along with students, will contribute to the government's health programs, particularly in increasing pregnant women's knowledge about pregnancy prevention.
