NAMA-NAMA TUHAN DALAM PERSPEKTIF KECERDASAN JAMAK (NAMES OF GOD IN THE PERSPECTIVE OF MULTIPLE INTELLIGENCE)

Abstract

The theme of this research is the concept of intelligence in mysticism point of view, especially in the philosophical mysticism of Ibn Arabi’s perspective, with the the research title :” Nama-nama tuhan dalam perspektif kecerdasan jamak”, The research Question is”Is the Principles of Multiple Intelligences Found in the Concept of Names of God?”. The social background of this research is that there is an assumption which says that the concept of Multiple Intelligences is not developed in the Islamic educational tradition, so far the educational tradition is carried out with only one intelligence (IQ) based. So the result of it shows that the development of intelligences are not comprehensive in the part of students’ capacities. One of the cause is that The Koran do not mention it clearly or explicitly. Relating to that that matter, the aim of this research is to find out whether the concept of multiple intelligences is found in Islamic tradition, especially in the Ibn Arabi’s philosophical Sufism point of view, in the context of “Names of God”. In line with that, the research is conducted qualitatively (or what’s so called qualitative research) , while the approach used in the research is philosophical inquiry with descriptive analysis and critical method.
