Skrining Sarkopenia pada Masyarakat Lanjut Usia di Desa Kudukeras, Cirebon, Tahun 2023

Abstract


Lansia rentan mengalami kerapuhan dan sarkopenia, dan mereka sering kali memiliki beberapa penyakit penyerta, termasuk demensia. Sarkopenia ditandai dengan penurunan fungsi fisik atau hilangnya massa dan kekuatan otot. Ciri utama kelemahan fisik adalah sarkopenia. Evaluasi status fungsional, seperti skrining sarkopenia pada lansia untuk identifikasi penyakit secara dini, dapat menghindari penurunan kekuatan, kualitas, dan kuantitas otot pada lansia. Lima item yang termasuk dalam skrining adalah berat badan, tinggi lutut, lingkar betis, kekuatan genggaman tangan, dan tes duduk-berdiri di kursi sebanyak lima kali. Skrining sarkopenia dilakukan terhadap 69 orang di Desa Kudukeras, Kabupaten Cirebon, Indonesia pada hari Minggu, 5 November 2023, di pesantren Al-Fathonah. Dari seluruh peserta, 62 (89,85%) adalah pra-lansia dan lansia dengan 42 (67,74%) memiliki kekuatan genggaman yang rendah dan 37 (59,67%) memiliki kecepatan duduk-berdiri dari kursi yang rendah. Skrining sarkopenia ini menunjukkan pentingnya deteksi dini, yang dapat membantu untuk pencegahan dan penanganan lanjutan semua orang lanjut usia yang berisiko mengalami sarkopenia.
