CHARACTER VALUE INTERNALIZATION IN LEARNING TO POEM WRITING THROUGH THE APPLICATION OF RENGKONG

Abstract


The study aimed to describe and to analyze the character value internalization in learning to poem writing in SMA Negeri 2 Cianjur. The media which was used in the study is the application of Rengkong. The application contained of introduction to Rengkong in Cianjur, West Java. In Rengkong, thirteen character values are found, namely religious values, honesty, discipline, creativity, hard work, independence, patriotism, nationalism, achievement appreciation, environmental care, social care, tolerance and responsibility. The method used in this research was qualitative method. The instruments used were tests and questionnaires. Based on the results of the character value internalization through the application of Rengkong, fifteen character values found in student poetry, including: achievement appreciation, responsibility, creativity, honesty, democratic, environmental care, tolerance, hard work, religious, social care, sociable and communicative, patriotism, nationalism, curiosity, and independence. The results of the questionnaire showed 84.2% of learning to write poetry using the application of Rengkong helps to develop students character. Therefore, the application of Rengkong proves to develop students character value in learning to write poetry.
