CV.XYZ merupakan perusahaan yang bergerak dibidang pemotongan ayam yang memproduksi ayam broiler yang terdiri dari beberapa jenis produk yaitu ayam karkas, ayam parting (paha atas, paha bawah, dada, dan sayap) danayam beku. Pada CV.XYZ penjualan produk beku (sisa) sangat banyak dan merugikan perusahaan karena biaya pembekuan yang tinggi.Banyaknya penjualan produk beku terjadi karena peramalan permintaan yang tidak akurat dan perusahaan juga belum memiliki kebijakan persediaan yang tepat dan pengambilan keputusan dalam menentukan jumlah pemesanan bahan baku. Untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut, digunakan metode peramalan single moving average dan single exponential smoothing karena data permintaan memiliki plot horizontal dan memiliki kesalahan peramalan terkecil. Data peramalan menjadi input untuk optimasi model matematika yang memiliki fungsi tujuan memaksimasi profit. Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan didapatkan jumlah pemesanan ayam hidup yang optimal untuk minggu ke 1 sampai minggu ke 4 adalah 57263, 84910, 101753 dan 100557 kg ayam. Sehingga didapatkan profit sebesar Rp.59.485.152 lebih banyak 1% dari kondisi awal dan biaya pembekuan turun sebanyak 23%.References
