PENERAPAN MATERIAL REQUIREMENTS PLANNING DALAM PENGENDALIAN PERSEDIAAN BAHAN BAKU CARDED FIBER PADA PT. HILON INDONESIA-BALI

Abstract

Suatu industri manufaktur dalam mengendalikan produksi secara tepat waktu serta kesediaan bahan baku dalam jumlah yang memadai merupakan hal yang utama. Pada PT Hilon Indonesia-Bali proses produksi dan penyediaan bahan baku sering tidak terkendali dengan baik. Kadangkala persediaan bahan baku tidak ada pada saat proses produksi, namun kadangkala berlebih yang menyebabkan menumpuknya bahan baku di gudang. Hal ini menyebabkan kurang efisiennya biaya persediaan bahan baku yang dikeluarkan oleh perusahaan. Untuk mengurangi dampak yang ditimbulkan maka digunakan konsep Material Requirement Planning (MRP). Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan melakukan peramalan permintaan pada periode sebelumnya sebagai langkah awal untuk perencanaan produksi dan dipakai untuk membuat Jadwal Induk Produksi (JIP). Selanjutnya dengan menerjemahkan JIP menjadi “kebutuhan bersih” untuk semua jenis dan mengatur aliran bahan baku dan persediaan dalam proses sehingga sesuai dengan jadwal produksi untuk produk akhir. Setelah  menerapkan sistem MRP pada perusahaan,  terjadi penurunan persediaan bahan baku sebesar 73%.  Kata Kunci : Pengendalian produksi, peramalan permintaan, Jadwal Induk Produksi (JIP) dan Material Requirement Planning (MRP).
