ANALISIS PERFORMA BATERAI JENIS VALVE REGULATED LEAD ACID PADA PLTS OFF-GRID 1 KWP

Abstract


Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Surya (PLTS) merupakan solusi pembangkit listrik dengan energi terbarukan yang dapat diaplikasikan baik secara komunal maupun bersifat mandiri. Peran utama storage system khususnya baterai menjadi dasar keberlangsungan energi yang dapat disalurkan dalam sistem PLTS jenis off-grid. Penelitian ini sistem PLTS off-Grid merupakan bahasan utama terlebih pada penggunaan baterai sebagai tempat menyimpan energi, dimana baterai memiliki performa yang tidak selalu berada pada kondisi 100% selama penggunaan berkala dalam jangka waktu tertentu. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah dengan memodelkan baterai jenis Valve Regulated Lead Acid (VRLA) yang terhubung ke dalam sistem PLTS 1 kWp di Laboratorium Teknik Elektro, Universitas Jenderal Achmad Yani. Pengujian operasi baterai dilakukan dengan penggunaan beban lampu 1000 W selama 24 jam dengan berbagai karakteristik output antara lain nilai arus baterai saat charging dan discharging, kemudian siklus baterai selama 1 tahun, rasio state of charge (SOC) terhadap depth of discharge (DOD), efisiensi siklus baterai dan performa baterai saat hari otonom.  Berdasarkan hasil simulasi dan pengujian pada baterai Volta 6FMX100 dengan spesifikasi 12 V/100Ah yang dilakukan, nilai charging baterai rata – rata dalam 1 tahun 90603,9 A dan discharging baterai 85834,3 A. Nilai DOD baterai ideal berdasarkan spesifikasi 2,4%. Usia baterai mengalami penyusutan 10% akibat pemakaian selama 1 tahun. Hasil pengujian yang telah dilakukan dalam penelitian ini bergantung data meteorologi di site PLTS yang dimasukkan pada karakteristik panel surya pada PLTS 1 kWp.
