Kualitas Air dan Sanitasi Rumah Tangga terhadap Berat Bayi Lahir di Wilayah Perkotaan Tangerang Selatan

Abstract


Berat badan lahir menjadi indikator penting dalam menilai kesehatan dan kesejahteraan bayi baru lahir. Prevalensi BBLR secara global mencapai 15-20%, dengan sebagian besar kasus terjadi di negara berkembang, termasuk Indonesia. Kondisi air, sanitasi, dan kebersihan yang tidak memadai menjadi risiko terhadap hasil kesehatan ibu dan bayi yang buruk. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara kualitas air dan sanitasi rumah tangga dengan berat bayi lahir, dengan fokus pada Wilayah Perkotaan Tangerang Selatan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan melibatkan ibu yang memiliki bayi berusia 0-6 bulan di Kota Tangerang Selatan. Hasil analisis bivariat menunjukkan perbedaan yang signifikan antara berat bayi lahir dan kualitas air serta sanitasi rumah tangga. Bayi lahir cenderung lebih berat pada ibu yang memiliki kualitas air dan sanitasi rumah tangga yang baik. Diperlukan eningkatan kesadaran masyarakat mengenai pentingnya kualitas air dan sanitasi, implementasi program-program peningkatan hygiene dan sanitasi, serta akses universal terhadap layanan sanitasi dasar dan air minum. Langkah-langkah ini diharapkan dapat mengurangi insiden berat badan lahir rendah dan meningkatkan kesehatan ibu dan bayi.
