Korelasi Lingkar Pinggang dan Lingkar Leher terhadap Indeks Massa Tubuh pada Dewasa Muda

Abstract


Obesitas merupakan masalah kesehatan yang prevalensi dan komorbiditasnya terus meningkat di seluruh dunia. Indeks massa tubuh (IMT) merupakan indikator status gizi namun tidak menggambarkan status gizi orang dengan disabilitas fisik. Lingkar pinggang (LP) dan lingkar leher (LL) berpotensi menjadi alternatif dalam menentukan status gizi orang dengan disabilitas fisik. Oleh karena itu, perlu diketahui korelasi antara LP dan LL terhadap IMT pada orang normal serta nilai LP dan untuk tiap kategori IMT. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui korelasi LP dan LL terhadap IMT pada partisipan dewasa muda. Penelitian analitik observasional dengan pendekatan potong lintang ini dilakukan di Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Tanjungpura pada bulan Mei 2019. Analisis data dilakukan dengan uji korelasi yaitu uji Pearson dengan uji alternatif Spearman. Partisipan terdiri dari 20 orang laki-laki dan 40 orang perempuan yang berusia antara 19-23 tahun. Rerata LP dan LL seluruh partisipan, laki-laki dan perempuan adalah 83,60 cm, 84,62 cm dan 83,09 cm; 32,78 cm, 36,86 cm dan 30,74 cm. LP dan LL terhadap IMT memiliki korelasi positif bermakna (p=0,000) pada setiap kategori jenis kelamin dengan kekuatan korelasi sedang hingga sangat kuat (r=0,595~0,984). LP dan LL terhadap IMT pada partisipan dewasa muda memiliki korelasi positif bermakna untuk setiap kelompok jenis kelamin.
