Analysis of Raw Material Inventory Control Using the Fuzzy EOQ Method at CV. XYZ

Inventory planning and control are crucial for CV XYZ, a furniture industry in East Jakarta, due to demand fluctuations and raw material limitations. Over the past 12 months, a stockout of 60 mahogany logs resulted in potential losses of Rp 14,000,000 – Rp 40,000,000. This study compares the company's policy, EOQ, and fuzzy EOQ methods in inventory management. The results show that the EOQ method reduces inventory costs by 60.8% with an optimal order quantity of 255 logs, while fuzzy EOQ is more efficient, achieving a 64.3% cost reduction with an optimal order of 233 logs. With a lower ordering frequency, fuzzy EOQ is more effective in minimizing the risk of overstock, making it the best method for optimizing inventory and cost efficiency.References
