Abstract

ABSTRAK. Arsitektur kontekstual adalah salah satu konsep dalam bidang ilmu arsitektur yang membahas tentang hubungan antara bangunan baru dan bagunan lama atau bisa juga membahas tentang hubungan antara bangunan dengan lingkungan sekitar dalam segi : kegiatan, lingkungan dan visual. Konsep kontekstual dapat dilihat dari sebuah kawasan mulai dari yang modern hingga kawasan yang bersejarah. Dalam hal penelitian ini kawasan yang diteliti yaitu kawasan sebuah bangunan hotel. Penelitian ini pula memiliki tujuan yaitu tentang menjelaskan prinsip – prinsip konsep arsitektur kontekstual pada bangunan hotel Mercure Batavia terutama kontekstual dalam segi ukuran, bentuk dan warna. Konsep arsitektur kontekstual memiliki dua prinsip yaitu kontras dan hormoni. Kajian tentang konsep arsitektur kontekstual pada bangunan hotel menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif deduktif, yaitu mencari teori yang sudah ada sebagai pemandu untuk mencari studi kasus hotel lalu dilakukan analisis dengan prinsip prinsip arsitektur kontekstual. Hasil dari penelitian ini mencakup tentang bagaimana prinsip arsitektur kontekstual yang sudah ada apakah bangunan hotel Mercure Batavia yang berada di kawasan bersejarah Kota Tua sudah menggunakan prinsip kontekstual kontras & harmoni ataukan belum. Kata Kunci: Arsitektur Kontekstual, Hotel, Kawasan. ABSTRACT. Contextual architecture is one of the concepts in the field of architecture that discusses the relationship between new buildings and old buildings or it can also discuss the relationship between buildings and the surrounding environment in terms of activities, environment and visuals. Contextual concepts can be seen from an area ranging from modern to historic areas. In this research, the area under study is the area of a hotel building. This research also has a purpose, namely explaining the principles of contextual architectural concepts in the Mercure Batavia hotel building, especially contextual in terms of size, shape and color. The concept of contextual architecture has two principles, namely contrast and hormones. The study of the concept of contextual architecture in hotel buildings uses a descriptive qualitative deductive method, namely looking for existing theories as a guide to find hotel case studies and then analyzing them with the principles of contextual architecture. The results of this study include how the existing contextual architectural principles are whether the Mercure Batavia hotel building located in the historic area of Old City has used the contextual principle of contrast & harmony or not.Keywords: Contextual Architecture, Hotels, Regions.
