Abstract

ABSTRAK. Awal mula muncul konsep postmodern ini berawal dari kejenuhan masyarakat terhadap era modern yang hanya terlihat kaku dan monoton. Seperti pemakaian elemen geometris dalam suatu bentuk yang terlihat tidak fungsional dan sangat kurangnya inovasi dalam arsitektur modern yang telah berkembang pada masa itu. Konsep postmodern ini mulai dikenal sejak tahun 1970. Dengan hal tersebut penelitian ini akan menganalisis bangunan studi kasus yang menerapkan konsep arsitektur postmodern, bangunan yang menjadi studikasus yaitu bangunan Teater Jakarta di Taman Ismail Marzuki yang akan di analisis menggunakan prinsip arsitektur postmodern. Dengan tujuan penelitian yaitu untuk memahami konsep arsitektur postmodern dan penerapannya di bangunan studikasus. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan pengambilan data yaitu primer dan sekunder. Bangunan Teater Jakarta ini dirancang dengan penggunaan material modern atau masa kini, tetapi tetap menonjolkan konsep tradisional dan tidak terlepas dari sejarahnya.Kata Kunci: Arsitektur, Postmodern, Teater Jakarta  ABSTRACT. The beginning of the emergence of this postmodern concept stems from the saturation of society against the modern era which only looks stiff and monotonous. Such as the use of geometric elements in a form that looks non-functional and the lack of innovation in modern architecture that had developed at that time. This postmodern concept has been known since 1970. With this in mind, this research will analyze a case study building that applies the concept of postmodern architecture, the building which is the case study, namely the Jakarta Theater building in Taman Ismail Marzuki which will be analyzed using postmodern architectural principles. With the aim of research is to understand the concept of postmodern architecture and its application in case study buildings. This research was conducted using a qualitative descriptive method with primary and secondary data collection. This research produces an analysis of the postmodern architectural principles applied to the Jakarta Theater building. The Jakarta Theater building was designed using modern or contemporary materials, but still emphasizes traditional concepts and is inseparable from its history. Keywords: Architecture, Postmodern, Jakarta Theatre
