Smart City merupakan sebuah konsep perencanaan kota yang kian hari kian dipertimbangkan untuk di aplikasikan kepada sebuah kota metropolitan yang padat penduduk sebagai salah satu cara untuk menjawab kompleksitas masalah pada suatu kota besar, dan sesuai pula dengan perkembangan zaman yang menuju ke dunia digitalisasi. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk merancang sebuah kawasan yang kurang tertata, dan tidak terencana dengan baik menjadi sebuah kawasan yang lebih terintegrasi, pintar, dan ramah lingkungan. Selain itu diharapkan dengan penelitian ini pembangunan sebuah kota dapat menjadi sebuah kawasan yang tidak hanya mampu memobilisasi warganya tapi juga menjadi kota yang selain modern, dinamis, tapi juga tetap nyaman , aman, dan juga layak untuk dihuni. Hasil penelitian ini adalah sebuah desain kawasan di Cibubur yang menerapkan konsep Smart City
