Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah memunculkan strategi stringing siswa dalam mengembangkan mental calculation siswa pada materi perkalian di kelas 3 SD di Pekanbaru Riau. Pendekatan pembelajaran yang digunakan adalah Pendidikan Matematika Realistik Indonesia (PMRI). Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian design research dengan melakukan tiga fase yaitu preliminary design, teaching experiment dan retropesctive analysis. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa siswi kelas 3 SD Negeri 55 Pekanbaru dengan jumlah siswa sebanyak 39 orang. Hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa siswa terbentuk alur pembelajaran dengan menggunakan strategi stringing dengan konsep berawal dari penjumlahan berulang. Dengan diberikan konteks berupa pesta ulang tahun yang berisikan suatu penempatan pengelompokkan bilangan pada model meja dan kursi memberikan kontribusi kepada siswa untuk memunculkan strategi stringing.References
