Abstract

     Seringnya terjadi ketidak tersediaan komponen yang mengakibatkan  adanya tambahan biaya pengiriman melaui udara merupakan salah satu masalah yang di hadapi oleh PT.XYZ. Sebab utamanya adalah perencanaan kebutuhan material yang kurang baik, Kerugian karena adanya tambahan biaya karena ketidak tersediaan komponen sehingga harus di kirim melalui udara dikarenakan darurat adalah Rp. 51.780.300,-.kemudian total biaya yang di butuhkan untuk pengadaan material ditahun 2014 adalah Rp. 2.123.654.000,-. Dengan diterapkannya sistem MRP, pembelian bahan material menjadi lebih tepat, baik waktu maupun kuantitasnya. Untuk menentukan ukuran lot terbaik, melibatkan perhitungan dari total biaya, baik biaya simpan maupun biaya pesan, dimana pengambilan bahan baku hanya dari satu pemasok saja. Dapat diketahui sistem perencanaan kebutuhan material atau material requirement planning (MRP) tahun 2015 dengan lot sizing terbaik adalah metode silver meal dengan total  biaya pengadaan kebutuhan material Rp. 1.025.516.800 dan pembelian material menjadi lebih tepat baik waktu maupun kuantitasnya sehingga tidak terjadi keterlambatan komponen saat perakitan.
