Perbaikan Desain Produk Reamer Menggunakan Metode Taguchi Untuk Memaksimalkan Durability

Sebuah perusahaan yang memproduksi cutting tool mempunyai produk dengan nama reamer, yang sudah diproduksi sejak tahun 2015. Perusahaan mengalami masalah terhadap produk reamer ini, karena margin keuntungan yang terus berkurang yang disebabkan naiknya biaya material dan gaji karyawan setiap tahun dan juga keluhan dari pelanggan karena durabilitas yang dianggap rendah dan harga yang mahal. Pada tahun 2017 perusahaan hanya memperoleh keuntungan sekitar Rp.14.000 per reamer sedangkan harga reamer tidak mungkin dinaikkan. Disisi lain pelanggan meminta perbaikan umur produk dalam menghasilkan lubang, saat ini hanya mampu menghasilkan ±690 lubang per reamer. Setelah melalui proses desain ulang produk dengan menggunakan Metode Taguchi, dapat dikembangkan produk reamer yang mampu memaksimalkan profit perusahaan dan juga meningkatkan durabilitasnya. Dengan pemilihan kombinasi parameter dan level yang terbaik menggunakan metode Taguchi saat melakukan trial didapatkan kenaikan umur produk dalam menghasilkan lubang naik menjadi ±1036 lubang per reamer dan keuntungan sebesar Rp 195.000 per reamer.Referensi
