Abstract

ABSTRAK. Peran botani sangat penting dalam kehidupan manusia dari aspek ekonomi, kesehatan dan budaya. Penyebab kepunahan botani di Indonesia pada umumnya yang disebabkan oleh adanya alih fungsi lahan, ekploitasi lahan, pencemaran lingkungan dan penebangan liar terhadap tanaman yang dilindungi sehingga Indonesia membutuhkan Botanical Center. Bangunan Botanical Center di Setu Pengasinan ini menggunakan konsep Arsitektur Metafora berfungsi sebagai visualisasi bentuk untuk menarik pengunjung. Dengan adanya botanical center di Setu Pengasinan Depok diharapkan mampu untuk menekan angka kepunahan tumbuhan di Indonesia serta memberikan kontribusi terhadap para ilmuan dan pengembang pelaku bisnis botani di Indonesia, sehingga kedepannya mampu memperbaiki perekonomian Indonesia dan dapat menciptakan inovasi-inovasi penelitian baru. Kata Kunci: botanical center, arsitektur metafora
