Abstract

Secara geograis Indonesia yang merupakan negara kepulauan yang terdiri lebih dari 17.508 pulau dan didominasi oleh wilayah laut, yaitu mencapai 81.7 % (5.8 juta kilometer persegi) dari luas total wilayah indonesia. Indonesia memiliki banyak kawasan pesisir yang berfungsi sebagai penyedia sumber daya alam, seperti muara, bakau, rumput laut dan terumbu karang yang produktif. Pada saat ini penanganan ekologi kawasan pesisir masih sangat kurang diperhatikan terutama dalam penanganannya yang masih diabaikan seperti tidak mempunyai peran penting terhadap kawasan pesisir. Untuk menjawab issu tersebut, maka dirancanglah sebuah pusat konservasi ekologi kawasan pesisir dengan pendekatan arsitektur hijau. Dengan adanya pusat konservasi ekologi kawasan pesisir ini diharapkan menjadi pusat penelitian, konservasi dan edukasi berwawasan wisata alam bagi masyarakat luas.
