Abstract

ABSTRAK. Metafora adalah salah satu dari lima konsep dasar dalam dunia arsitektur. Pada dasarnya konsep metáfora terbagi menjadi 3 kategori metafora, yaitu: 1. Metafora tak teraba (Intangible metaphor), 2. Metafora teraba (Tangible Metaphor), dan 3. Metafora kombinasi (Combained metaphor).  Penerapan konsep metafora bertujuan untuk menunjukan keunikan dari konsep metafora, karena konsep metafora adalah sesuatu yang unik,. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah memahami penerapan konsep arsitektur metáfora pada museum, dan mengetahui bagian-bagian museum yang menerapkan konsep arsitektur metafora. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Metode penelitian kualitatif digunakan untuk meneliti pada kondisi obyek yang alamiah. Pada penelitia ini ditemukan bahwa museum serangga di TMII menerapkan konsep metafora teraba (Tangible).
